De Quinta Producciones, in partnership with Jazz at Lincoln Center—the world’s largest organization dedicated to promoting jazz and led by Wynton Marsalis—organized a series of free concerts and lectures titled “New York Jazz All Stars” in Mexico. The series featured some of New York’s most prominent jazz artists, with the aim of strengthening the jazz scene in Mexico and creating an extracurricular educational program that contributes to the development of a young audience, as well as the promotion of creative music. This project was launched in Mexico City in 2013 and is supported by various cultural organizations, including Fomento Educacional, A.C. and the National Center for the Arts, among others. The jazz concerts and academic activities took place in Mexico City, Puebla, Cuernavaca, Guadalajara, and Torreón.
